A Marrakech shopping day, with an expert eye beside you

A private shopping day in Marrakech costs from €160 per vehicle for a half-day in an SUV (up to 4 people) and €235 for a full day — licensed guide, private car and driver included.

Licensed local guide included, private car and driver. We show you how to recognise a hand-knotted rug, workshop-pressed argan oil, properly tanned leather — then every find goes into the boot while you carry on, hands free.

This is not a self-guided walk. It’s your shortcut into Marrakech.

The souks are magnificent — and vast. Dozens of specialised alleys, hundreds of workshops, and nothing to tell you where the right one is. That is why every PlanMorocco shopping day includes a licensed guide, from start to finish. Not a box to tick: the product is built to be guided.

A licensed guide stays with you for every moment of the day

In Morocco, only a guide holding the professional card issued by the State may accompany visitors inside the medina. We work with them exclusively: it is the law, and it is your guarantee. Your driver drives and looks after your purchases — each to their craft, and you get both.

What an experienced guide changes

You save time

He knows the alleys craft by craft. You go straight to the workshops that match your wish list, instead of crossing the same souk three times without realising it.

You can read quality

Knot density in a rug, the tanning of a leather, the firing of a ceramic: he shows you what to look at — before you decide, not after.

You stay free

No imposed stops, no obligation to buy. He is paid by you, through us: his advice belongs to no one else.

You discuss price calmly

He gives you realistic market ranges and takes over whenever you would rather not haggle yourself. Never any pressure.

You understand what you see

The history of the fondouks, workshop gestures, the meaning of the patterns: every piece leaves with its story. That is what makes it unforgettable back home.

You speak your language

French and English guaranteed; Spanish, Italian, German and Arabic subject to availability. You choose when you book.

A guide who opens doors, a car that follows you

The finest addresses don’t fit into one neighbourhood — and the finest objects don’t fit into a handbag. The combination is what opens Marrakech and its surroundings.

The guide opens doors

He takes you where things are still made by hand: brassware workshops, dyers, weavers. Not only the shopfronts on the main alley.

The boot keeps everything

Rugs, lamps, ceramics, baskets: every purchase joins the car as the day unfolds. You keep browsing hands-free — something no walking visit can offer.

The whole city, and beyond

The medina and its souks by craft, the concept stores of Guéliz, the Sidi Ghanem design district, the Palmeraie — and, if you feel like it, the cooperatives and village souks on the road to the Atlas. None of that happens without a car.

Your day, your rules

A private experience is shared with no one — so nothing is imposed. Here is what we commit to, in writing.

We collect you wherever you are staying

Hotel, riad, villa, apartment or residence — in Marrakech and around it.

You leave at the time that suits you

9 am, 11 am, 2 pm — you choose. Nothing is fixed in advance to suit us.

You change your mind whenever you like

An address spotted on Instagram, a last-minute urge: say the word and off we go.

No imposed stops, no obligation to buy

You can look at everything and buy nothing. The day is still a success.

You carry nothing

Everything goes into the boot as the day unfolds and follows you to your door.

You head back when you decide

A longer break, the urge to carry on: it’s your day, not our schedule.

Go home with pieces you can tell the story of

A souvenir becomes precious the day you know why it is beautiful. Your guide teaches you to read what is in front of you — rugs, ceramics, leather, spices — and that stays with you long after the trip.

Rugs & textiles

Knot density, wool or cotton, dyes, and the great families: Beni Ouarain, Azilal, Boucherouite. Plus the real question — will it fit through your living-room door?

Ceramics & zellige

Hand-painted or transferred decoration, glaze thickness, quality of firing — and how the piece will travel home with you.

Spices & argan oil

Cosmetic argan and culinary argan are neither the same oil nor the same scent. For spices: whole rather than ground — they keep their fragrance all the way home.

Baskets, wood & decor

Woven baskets, thuya wood, painted plates: these are the pieces that travel best and make the greatest impression once they are in your home.

Jewellery & one-off pieces

Berber silver, antique pieces, creations by young designers: this is where you find the object no one else will bring home.

Prices per vehicle, licensed guide included

Everything is included: licensed guide, private car, driver, fuel, waiting time while you shop. No surprises on arrival, no obligation to buy.

Build my day — from €160

Marrakech and its surroundings, without carrying a single bag

In the souk, every piece is one of a kind: the rug that stole your heart today won’t be there tomorrow. A dedicated day is the certainty of flying home with no regrets. Here is one possible flow — yours will follow your rhythm, not ours.

At the time you chose — we come to you

Your driver arrives wherever you are staying: hotel, riad, villa, apartment or residence. Your guide meets you at the souk entrance closest to your first craving — rugs, leather, brass, spices.

The souks, craft by craft

Souk Semmarine first, then the dyers’, blacksmiths’ and babouche alleys. Your guide tells you what you are seeing and shows you what to look at before you buy. Every find goes into the boot — you walk on hands-free.

When you get hungry — tea or lunch

On a medina rooftop or in a Guéliz garden: your driver drops you at the address of your choice. Your guide advises you — or lets you breathe, as you prefer.

Beyond the medina — wherever you want to go

The concept stores of Guéliz, the designer showrooms of Sidi Ghanem, the Palmeraie — or, if the urge takes you, the cooperatives and village souks on the road to the Atlas. Your guide stays with you, and so does the car.

Back when you decide, boot full

Everything you chose comes home with you, all the way to your door. All that’s left is to make room in the suitcases.

Frequently asked questions

Is the guide really included?

Yes. A licensed guide accompanies every shopping day, from start to finish. It is not a box to tick: the displayed price covers the guide, the car and the driver.

Am I obliged to buy anything?

Never. No imposed stops, no obligation to buy. Your guide is paid by you, through PlanMorocco: his advice belongs to no one else. You can leave empty-handed — the day is still a success.

Where and at what time do you collect us?

Wherever you are staying: hotel, riad, villa, apartment or residence, in Marrakech and around it. And at the time you choose — 9 am, 11 am, 2 pm: nothing is fixed in advance to suit us. You also head back whenever you decide.

Where do we go during the day?

Around Marrakech and its surroundings, according to your wishes: the medina and its souks organised by craft, the concept stores of Guéliz, the Sidi Ghanem design district, the Palmeraie — and, if you wish, the cooperatives and village souks on the road to the Atlas. None of it is reachable without a car, and the plan adapts as the day goes on.

Is the guide officially licensed?

Yes. In Morocco, only a guide holding the professional card issued by the State may accompany visitors inside the medina. We work with licensed guides only — it is the law, and it is your guarantee. Your driver drives and looks after your purchases; he does not guide.

What language is the day in?

French and English are guaranteed. Spanish, Italian, German and Arabic are offered subject to guide availability: you state your language when booking and we confirm within 24 h.

What if no guide is available on my date?

We tell you within 24 h and you choose: another date, or a full refund. We would rather refund you than send you into the souks without the guide who makes the whole day worthwhile.

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle, guide included. For four in the SUV, the guided half-day comes to about €40 per person — where walking accompaniment commonly sells at around €60 per person, without a car.

What if I buy a rug or bulky pieces?

That’s exactly the point of the formula: everything joins the boot as the day unfolds and comes home with you, all the way to your door. For very large pieces, the shops arrange international shipping — your guide knows the trusted houses.

How do I book and pay?

On our booking page, in 2 minutes: build your day, choose your guide’s language, fill in your details and pay online by card (secure Stripe payment). Instant confirmation, free cancellation up to 48 h before.
